PES-HORISONT-EU-PES Horisont Europa

PES rammebevilgning 2023-24 Universitetet i Sørøst-Norge

Alternative title: PES Framework grant 2023-24 University of South-Eastern Norway

Awarded: NOK 2.2 mill.

USN has ambitions to increase participation and success in the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, Horizon Europe. During the 2023-2024 period USN will focus on positioning USN as an attractive partner nationally and internationally e.g. within the Young European Research Universities Network and the European University Alliance EDUC (European Digitial UniverCity). Research environments within USNs newly identified five Strategic Research Focus Areas will be a particular area of focus for mobilisation to Horizon Europe. Proposals will be developed with excellent partners from across Europe and involving public and private sector actors where relevant. Intersectoral cooperation with regional actors can increase the regional impact of EU funded projects and support USNs in contributing to solving societal and industrial challenges and meeting, for example, the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Targeted competence building activities with management, research groups and advisors will be carried out to ensure understanding of and engagement in Horizon Europe. Professional research support will be further developed to ensure high quality support in consortia building and proposal development. PES funding is instrumental in enabling a young university, such as USN, to create a culture for EU project participation and to increase success in Horizon Europe.
