PES Horisont Europa rammebevilgning 2023–24 Vestlandsforsking

Alternative title: PES Horizon Europe framework grant 2023–24 Western Norway Research Institute

Awarded: NOK 1.2 mill.

Western Norway Research Institute aims to maintain active participation in the EU's research and innovation program, and we want to improve the quality of our applications directed towards Horizon Europe. To achieve this, we will emphasize competence development, networking, maintaining good connections, and facilitating knowledge transfer among researchers at the institute. In the project, we will strengthen the institute by establishing an action plan for our work related to Horizon Europe. Within Horizon Europe, WNRI will particularly focus on internationally profiling and positioning the institution in of big data (social security, energy, and digital solutions), Arctic research (climate and environment), climate research (transport, energy, and environment), and inclusive society (culture, identity, and technology). WNRI plans to be active as a participant, work package leader, and coordinator within these areas during the project period. The institute has participated in several international projects in Horizon 2020, where we were involved in a total of 5 research projects. In the field of big data, researchers have both participated in and coordinated EU projects (LEMO, RESILOC), while in Arctic research, we have participated in H2020 projects (FACE-IT and JUST-NORTH). Researchers in the field of culture, identity, and technology have experience in participating in international research projects and serving as evaluators. This expertise and the broad network we have built are important to us. Additionally, it is crucial for the institute to ensure that we have the latest updated knowledge, including administrative knowledge, which will be possible through planned courses and activities in this project. Our goal is to maintain active participation, which requires nurturing networks and being present in arenas that can connect us to new contacts and expand our network. We will focus on participating in digital meeting platforms in 2023 and 2024 as well.
