Computational models for ceramic materials for impact events

IMPETUS Afea owns and develops a system for simulation of extreme mechanics. There is a need from users of the system to more accurately model the behavior of ceramic materials. In this project we shall work together with Fraunhofer IKTS to systematically develop a wide variety of ceramic material samples. A test methodology will be developed by Nordmetall GmbH to mechanically test the ceramic materials. This data will be used to develop better numerical material models by Impetus Afea AB and finally provide material calibrations of ceramics on the Impetus Afea platform
