FUGE-Funksjonell genomforskn.i Norg

The Proteomics Core Facility at the University of Tromsø as a node in the national consortium of proteomics platforms (NorProteomics)

Awarded: NOK 1.3 mill.

The core facility for Proteomics in Tromsø has been fully operational since the end of 2004. The main purpose of the facility has been to serve research labs in the FUGE North region. The facility has 3 Mass spectrometer systems from Waters/Micromass. A M ALDI Micro MX, a Q-TOF Ultima Global with an integrated nanoAQUITY UPLC, and a Quattro Premier XE with the same nanoLC. We also have a Biacore T100 Surface Plamon Resonance instrument. At the facility we do protein identifications both by Peptide Mass Fin gerprinting (PMF) and by LC-MS/MS. We also do protein identification of proteins from organisms with low sequence information. We have experience in interactomics and phosphoprotein analyses. The core facility aims to continue to develop the service and e xpertise offered to users in the FUGE-N region. We intend to develop our expertise in interactomics, protein complex purifications using different strategies for tagging and purification of protein complexes. We also have some experience in phospholipid a nalyses. These are areas where we can offer expertise to the NorProteomics Consortium.
