AAL - MobileSage - Situated Adaptive Guidance for the Mobile Elderly

MobileSage aims to provide elderly people with context-sensitive, personalized and location-senstive tools which allow them to carry out and solve everyday tasks and problems in the self-serve society when and were they occur, "just-in-time". Two innov ative services are provided for the advancements of older people's independence and mobility in the daily life, including in particular transportation and travel. In this way, the Mobile Sage project targets the main objectives of the AAL Call 3 for solut ions enhancing the inclusion of the elderly in the self-serve information society. The means is instantiated by a personal agent on the smartphone, which provides a help-on-demand service. This service offers relevant, accessible, and usable content upon request, in the form of multimodal and personalized instruction and guidance, enabling people to help themselves. The main target group of the MobileSage service is elderly persons with or without disabilities (motor, perception, cognition), MobileSage also enables and promotes the users own generation of such help and thus providing accessible and usable content. The project period is 30 months, starting in July 2011. 8 partners, R&D organizations and a number of companies and institutes from Norway, Romania, Spain and UK (subcontractor), will participate in this AAL Joint Programme project.
