Norway is world leading in fish selective breeding and genetics both on the research and applied side. Worldwide, fish selective breeding is still a relatively new research discipline and industry, where the exchange of information between research and in dustry is rather limited. We would like to organize an international forum, where knowledge and experience is exchanged, for the fish breeding researchers and those involved in applied genetic improvement work on a commercial basis. We call the forum Fish Breeders Round Table. The first Fish Breeders Round Table was arranged in 2004, and the second in 2007. The next meeting will be arranged in 2011. The two main topics for Fish Breeders Round Table 2011 are: Genomics in aquaculture breeding and Genetic mo dels and modelling fish diseases.
