The Langesund Conference will be the most important meeting place for actors in fisheries, management and research into marine resources in the Skagerrak Kattegat region of the North Sea. The conference is a collaboration between the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research in Flødevigen, DTU Aqua (Denmark) and the University of Agricultural Sciences Institute of Marine Research in Lysekil Sweden, The North Sea Commission, Telemark Fylkeskommune, and Bioforum Telemark
Financing collaboration partners are: The Nordic Council of Ministers, Telemark Development fund, telemark county, other counties and municipalities around Skagerrak, the fisheries and aquaculture research fund (FHF) The Norwegian ministry of fisheries and coastal affairs, and the North Sea Commission. The conference will be a platform for cooperation projects between institutions and across national and professional borders, and will lift up current research challenges that will lead to research projects. Results from these projects will b e presented to researchers, resource managers, other stakeholders, politicians and the public.
The Langesund conference will promote Research collaboration and falls within the type of part-activities that spans across the part-programmes of The resear ch council, but is mainly directed towards the part programme Marine ecosystems, MAROK.
