Musikkpedagogiske forståelser, praksiser og relasjoner i det tverrinstitusjonelle samarbeidsprosjektet Kulturdag.

Kulturdag is a development project in which Trondheim municipality tries to accommodate the government`s wish for a greater focus on the practical aesthetic subjects in primary school as well as cooperation between teachers in primary school and music teachers (art teachers). During Kulturdag, music teachers assist teachers in primary school with the music lessons. This ph.d.-projects main issue is the following: How do music pedagogical understandings and practices develope through the project Kulturdag? The purpose of this study is to contribute to increased knowledge and development in music pedagogy in both primary schools and music schools (art schools). The study will also document and survey a specific project, Kulturdag. The theme for this study is music education in music school and primary school, cross-competence cooperations and music pedagogical development. Earlier written literature about inter-institutional collaborative projects between primary schools and music schools, in particular, talks about conditions around education for teachers in combined positions, as well as management challenges by incorporating music school educators in primary school. Within this field, my project can contribute with a practice-oriented study with a focus on new music pedagogical understandings and practices that are created in the collaboration between the two types of schools. Theory of practice architectures and ecologies of practices (Kemmis et al., 2014) is an overall theoretic perspective in this ph.d.-project and splits the main issue into three research questions ? what is being said in Kulturdag, what is being done in Kulturdag and how different prosecutors relates to each other in Kulturdag. The notion of ecologies of practice allows the researcher to explore the interconnections and interdependecies between different kinds of social practices and between different participants` practices (teachers, students, researcher, society, history etc.). The empirical material in this research project will be generated by a microethnographic field study in a primary school in Trondheim where they have Kulturdag. The data for analysis will be generated through observation, video and interviews.

Ph.d.-prosjektets formål er å undersøke hvordan musikkpedagogiske forståelser og praksiser utvikles i det kommunale utviklingsprosjektet Kulturdag. I Kulturdag bidrar kulturskolelærere sammen med grunnskolelærere i grunnskolens musikkundervisning. Hensikten med ph.d.-prosjektet er å bidra til musikkpedagogisk utvikling i både grunnskole- og kulturskolefeltet, samt å dokumentere og undersøke konkret samarbeid mellom grunnskole og kulturskole. Temaet for forskningsprosjektet er musikkundervisning i grunnskole og kulturskole, tverrkompetente samarbeid og musikkpedagogisk utvikling. Forskningsprosjektet binder sammen musikk og pedagogikk som fag, og inkluderer praksisfelt og forskningsfelt. Teori om praksisarkitekturer (Kemmis et al., 2014) er et overgripende teoretisk perspektiv i ph.d.-prosjektet og gir et forskningsfokus på tre hovedområder: hva som blir sagt i Kulturdag, hva som blir gjort i Kulturdag og hvordan ulike aktører relaterer til hverandre i Kulturdag. Gjennom undersøkelser av forskningsspørsmål knyttet til disse områdene belyses ph.d.-prosjektets sentrale problemstilling: Hvordan utvikles musikkpedagogiske forståelser og praksiser gjennom prosjektet Kulturdag? Forskningsprosjektet tar utgangspunkt i en mikroetnografisk studie hvor datamaterialet blir generert ved observasjon, video og intervju. Den mikroetnografiske studien gjennomføres i Kulturdagprosjektet ved Charlottenlund barneskole.
