The project aims at developing knowledge on the function and effect of Anglo-American contractual clauses and their interaction with Norwegian law. Anglo-American models are increasingly applied in contractual practice even if the contract is governed by Norwegian law. This affects most sectors of international business as well as domestic transactions, and it creates a series of uncertainties that can lead to unexpected results that are undesired by the parties. Moreover, this increases the number and t he difficulty of disputes that have to be solved by the court system, thus burdening the system of justice. The result of the project will be relevant to Norwegian commerce and industry in their contractual activity, to Norwegian courts in the solution of disputes, and to the Norwegian legislator in the increasing internationalisation of contract law.
