Metallocorroles in catalysis and nanoscience

This project aims at exploring the potential of corroles and related ligands in catalysis and nanoscience. The project has both fundamental and applied aspects. With respect to the former, the project will focus on a detailed study of the scope of the o ne-pot corrole synthesis as well as on novel coordination complexes and reactive intermediates based on the corrole ligand. In the materials/nanoscience area, we will focus on the development on gas sensors, liquid crystals, and nonlinear optical materia ls.
