The 18th International Conference on Efficiency, Cost, Optimization, Simulation and Environmental Impact of Energy Systems

This application is seeking funding to invite six key-note speakers and four session chairmen/panelists to the Conference ECOS 2005 in Trondheim. We are also asking support to have technical assistance for production of the Proceedings. This conference on energy technology with focus on the environment, is expected to draw about 350 participants from all over the world. It is number 18 in a series of yearly events, and one ambition is to increase its international basis. The conference is held in Norw ay for the first time, and is new in its combination of five focus points: 1) CO2 abatement technologies, 2) industrial ecology, 3) non-equilibrium thermodynamics, 4) process integration and 5) renewable energy systems. A record high number of professiona l women take part in the organisation, and young scientists will actively help lead it. Its association to a tradition ensures that it will be organised. The chairman of the conference, prof. Signe Kjelstrup, was elected chairman on the 16th meeting in Berlin 2002.
