Status and Virtual Promotion of Technology Demonstrations of Renewable Electricity Applications with Hydrogen Storage

The project will meet the call objective through thematic promotion and dissemination activities on renewable electricity technologies. The project will develop a virtual tool that facilitates planning and optimal use and management of distributed generat ion and storage. Moreover, the project will focus on technology systems that can improve the yield from Distributed RES electricity generation and its grid connection by way of hydrogen storage. WP1 Status on RES electricity technologies in combination w ith hydrogen storage 1.1 Carry out a study giving a global status on technology research and demonstrated technologies involving renewable electricity applications in combination with hydrogen storage options. The results of this study will be promoted by way of a printed brochure WP2. Virtual platform 2.1 Develop a virtual platform for live, web-based promotion of real demonstration sites. Virtual promotion can involve site videos, oral presentations as well as real-time graphics on production details f rom the system and its interaction with the grid. This specific SSA will use the existing wind-hydrogen site of Utsira as main pilot for this part of the virtual platform. Other sites will be selected from the cases identified in WP1 and included in the p latform. 2.2 The same platform as described above will be designed for promoting ongoing technology research projects and demonstration projects that are under planning. The presented graphics and details will in these cases be based on system modelling instead of actual values. This specific SSA will aim to use a planned hydrogen site as pilot for this part of the virtual platform. 2.3 Finally, the platform will be designed to simulate hydrogen storage systems in existing RES electricity sites by addin g a virtual hydrogen storage system to existing, large-scale grid connected applications. This specific SSA may use the existing wind site of Havøygavlen as one of the pilot for this part of the platform.
