Modelling Thermal Effects in the Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell

Tildelt: kr 85 000

This project relates to a 3-month scientific visit for one researcher from Institute for Energy Technology, Norway, to the Queen's-RMC Fuel Cell Research Centre (FCRC) in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The researcher will perform parts of the suggested work p lan for 2005 in the project "Thermal Effects in Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cells" financed by the RENERGI program. Being one of Canada?s leading fuel cell research clusters, a stay at FCRC can add substantial value to the on-going project. Collaboration in the area of fuel cell modelling will be particularly beneficial. During the visit at FCRC the IFE-researcher will focus on thermodynamic modelling of Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cells. In addition to this the researcher will work on the design of new appara tus for the project. A stay at FCRC will enable the researcher to work in an all fuel cell research environment, enhancing the total focus for the researcher. It is hoped that the visit to FCRC will be the beginning on a long-term collaboration between Norwegian and Canadian fuel cell research groups. Researchers from Canada will at a later stage be invited as guest researcher visiting Norway through the guest researcher position at NTNU in the RENERGI project.
