Frankrike - Establish a bilateral French-Norwegian cooperation on the development of demersal surveytrawl.

The long term objective is to improve resource assessment tools and quality of data. This will improve scientific advice to management. A plan of action for the cooperation between IMR and IFREMER will be made. The plan will be in accordance with the stra tegic documents existing for international work in both institutions. In addition, a separate agreement for the cooperation between the institutions for a survey trawl development will be made. The state of art in survey trawl development will be reviewe d and form the background for the work, and for the work of identifying the relevant personnel and resources. Also the identification of suitable methodology and required new technology will depend on this. The identification of resources will be done bot h by correspondence and in meetings, and a total resource report will be outlined. Costs and framework for man time, equipment and vessel-time for the development work will be stipulated for a long term project, and applications for funding of the long-te rm cooperation will be made.
