Workshop on representation of ship to ship interaction effects in manoeuvring models

This pre-project will be part of an attempt to build an international consortium for a joint industry project on safety and operational aspects on different types of ship to ship operations. These operations may range from traditional oil and gas lighteri ng to ship - tug interactions in harbour manoeuvres and handling of multiple vessels in replenishment at sea operations. The workshop in Japan is the second of four planned workshops being part of a one year long international co-operation project to defi ne content, and screen possible participants, for the JIP on ship to ship interaction, see attached file S2S_Int_co-op_draft3.pdf. The pre-project has been designed to strenghten links between universities and research companies in Japan and Norway worki ng on problems related to safety of complex multi ship operations. It has four activities: - Workshop planning - Running the workshop at Tokyo University of Science and Technology - Transfer of workshop outcomes to an international co-operation project pr eparing the JIP - Mapping Japanese stakeholders interest for the planned JIP
