Kina - Advanced materials for energy applications - preproject

The Wuhan University of Technology is a key institution under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education by the authority of the State Council, P.R. China. The staff of 6500 includes 2400 academic faculty members. The total enrollment is over 37000 students with 3370 postgraduates included, which ranks among the fourth largest in China. The State Key Laboratory of Advanced Technology for Materials Synthesis and Processing at the university is a national key project with governmental funding. The objective is to work out a joint project proposal on advanced materials for fuel cells and hydrogen storage. The cooperative work is expected to give new or improved materials that can be of commercial interest in new sustainable energy technology. Fu rthermore, the cooperation will benefit both Ph.D. students from both countries as well as give the possibility to finance Post.Doc. positions. This cooperation will strengthen the stratigic cooperation between Agder University College and Elkem Research . Both Norwegian institutions will benefit from cooperating with some of the leading scientists of the P.R. China. This activity will comply with and strengthen the international strategy of Agder University College. There is a potential for a long term c ooperation with the Wuhan University of Technology since there is already ongoing cooperation with the university in the field of Information and Communication Technology.
