Catalytic dehydrogenation of NGL components. Application of in situ spectroscopic techniques for studying dehydrogenation catalysts.

Tildelt: kr 0,83 mill.

Catalytic dehydrogenation of NGL is a vital process for the production of olefins. Typically, Cr-oxide or Pt-based catalysts are used for commercial processes. The project focuses on the application of operando and in situ spectroscopic studies of Cr-oxid e based catalysts during dehydrogenation of propane in order to obtain more fundamental insight into the nature of active Cr sites and in the dehydrogenation and deactivation mechanisms. The project involves the use of Diffuse Refelectance UV-Vis Spectros copy (UV-Vis-DRS), combined in situ Raman and FTIR spectroscopy and the TEOM reactor.
