This project is a study of the viscoelastic properties of several exotic complex systems. Using high frequency microrheology we can obtain rheological data over several decades of frequency and up to frequencies unobtainable using conventional rheological techniques. This allows us to study the viscoelastic behavior of several complex systems up to very high frequency. The systems we have chosen to study are examples of multi-connected macromolecular structures comprised of either surfactants or colloid al particles. The topology of these systems varies in each system as does the governing dynamics. The microrheology technique, that we will use, is capable of measuring such dynamics through measurement of the high frequency range of the viscoelastic modu lus. This technique is the first of its kind in Norway and requires financial support in order to further develop the technique and necessary expertise.
