RFID Resource Network

RFID-RNET is a National Resource Network with the strategic objective to generate projects based on RFID technology. RFID-RNET aims at defining the RFID technology and development research challenges at the national level in the view of global development . The network will bring together the fragmented community that exists in Norway today in the field of RFID, thus underpinning the basic multidisciplinary science and addressing the large potential for RFID-based capabilities in Norway. The network will a ct as a strategic partner to the RCN ICT programmes to address the technological challenges at the national level and meet the needs of industry. The strategic objective will be achieved by meeting a number of targets, including: -Generating 1-2 RFID pr oject proposals per year (2007-2012) -Generating detailed roadmap of industrial requirements for the uptake of RFID technology -Defining a design framework for generic devices that meet RFID industrial requirements. -Supporting the establishment of manage ment programs for understanding Real Time Data Management and instant decision making. -Generating RFID adoption activities, and assisting systems integration of RFID components that meet the requirements of individual Norwegian industrial and public sect ors. -Establishing a core group of qualified personnel for RFID technology. Organise RFID focus interest groups (involving users, technology & solution providers) with linkages to a wide network of local and overseas RFID-resources and RFID labs and resou rces. -Demonstrate novel RFID technologies and solutions -Organising debates/workshops leading to a better understanding of RFID -Producing knowledge transfer activities. Developing and maintaining a RFID web portal/knowledge base. -Pariticipating in the standardisation process at national and global level
