ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY STRATEGY FOR WASTE MANAGEMENT IN INDIA UTILISING CEMENT AND CONCRETE PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY

The pre project aims to identify how to develop a strategy for environmental sound handling of industrial and hazardous waste applying state of the art technology in the cement and concrete industry in India, in order to ensure sustainable energy and res ource management. It is aimed to use the experiences gained nationally and internationally by SINTEF in order to identify the potential and the benefits of increased use of industrial inorganic waste in Indian cement and concrete production, as well as co -processing of organic waste in Indian cement kilns. SINTEF Building and Infrastructure will lead the project in cooperation with the Indian partners; NEERI (National Environmental Engineering Research Insitute), NCB(National Council for Cement and Buildi ng Materials), and three Norwegian industrial partners; Norcem As, Borregaard, Elkelm materials.
