GOODLE: A Generative Opensource Oriented Digital Library Environment

Tildelt: kr 24 999

The GOODLE Project A Generative Opensource Oriented Digital Library Environment Alessio Malizia, Computer Science Dept., Univ. Carlos III de Madrid, Spain. Kai A. Olsen, Høgskolen i Molde (HSM), Molde University College, Molde, Norway. Project Scope T his project aims at developing a modeling approach to human-computer interaction (HCI) for computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW) in the development of digital libraries. In this context, we will design and prototype environments that facilitate colla boration among distributed users while still responding to their specific needs and preferences. Advanced results, with respect to our previous work, will include: operational interfaces for large information spaces and collaborative environments for an a ctual digital library which is part of a large federation of digital collections of multimedia documents. Our approach will be both generative and visual, and it would not require any programming effort since it automatically generates code, based on visu al modeling. By employing this methodology we aim to help digital libraries experts, such as: librarians, information architects and domain experts, to cope with the complexity of designing a distributed digital library without dealing with code design.
