Sustainable Conservation: bridging the gap between disciplines

The idea of the conference is to bring leading researchers around the world to present and discuss topics around sustainable conservation of biodiversity. A central more specific focus will be on the process of species extinction. The conference will prov ide a unique arena for discussion among scientific disciplines that works within different theoretical frameworks that result in large differences in the approaches to management questions. This will also give an opportunity for young scientist to hear a nd discuss with world-leading experts in the different research areas. Similarly, such a conference will also provide an opportunity for environmental managers to interact with forefront in research in conservation biology. We will also invite the speaker s at the conference to contribute chapters in a book or a special journal issue with preliminary working-title EXTINCTION, edited by the conference organizers. The conference will be an official part of the 250 year anniversary of the Royal Norwegian Soci ety of Sciences
