Diversity of root-associated fungi connected to Salix polaris L. in newly colonized areas. RIS 6193

The project will investigate the biodiversity of fungi associated with the roots and rhizosphere of Salix polaris, an ecto-mycorrhizal dwarf shrub that is one of the first vascular plants that colonizes recently deglaciated areas in the High Arctic. We wi ll also attempt to identify possible biotic and abiotic drivers of this fungal diversity.
