While my time at university comes to an end, I was asking myself where I would like to start my professional career. Since I visited Norway for a holiday trip together with my parents in 2006, I was somehow fascinated by the beauty of the landscape. Looki ng at the economy, the Norwegian gross domestic product per capita is among the highest worldwide. Also, the education and social security system (e.g. health care) is often seen as a role model. Internet research and several conversations with my family and friends confirmed the idea of further getting to know this part of Europe. With more than 10,000 full-time students, the private BI Norwegian Business School is one of the largest business schools in Europe with a continuously good track record in ra nkings. A high proportion of international students, small class sizes and close relationships to the business world ensure an interactive learning atmosphere. Also, a modern campus and a well-equipped library do support a comfortable studying environment . In contrast to traditional lecture-style teaching, courses are often characterized by a high proportion of group work as well as case discussions. Interesting courses that extend theoretical concepts that I am already familiar with will help me to deepe n my understanding in several academic disciplines. I am convinced that an exchange semester during my current course of study is the perfect opportunity to extend my academic knowledge and understand what makes Norway different from other European coun tries. I am looking forward to experience how it feels like to live in this country for a longer period than just a holiday trip in order to decide whether Norway might be a good place to start my business career.
