Biosensing Solutions for Environmental Monitoring in Space Installations

The Project aims to develop a system for monitoring of the micro biota living in confined habitats as well as on Earth. This includes the micro biota in the environment (e.g. interior of ISS), in the food/water as well as on the human itself. The approach is to map the current technology in this field and suggest ways were these technologies can be adapted to suit in Space Applications as well as e.g. in hospitals/water management Companies/Food supply Chains. The delivery will be a bio-sensor adapted to space applications were sampling of the micro biota in air/water/surfaces can be performed in an efficient and reliable way. Another delivery will be the monitoring concept/procedure; describing the sampling approach, the sampling frequency and the appropriate response to the measured/observed micro biota levels.
