COLLABORATIVE GARDENING: Gardening therapy for independence and QoL

The idea is to build a collaborative gardening for the elderly. We will have the sensors (different types of the sensors) that will monitor the plants. Our idea for sensors is humidity, soil quality, size of the plant and camera for taking images of the insects potentially attacking the plant. The sensors will communicate with the platform and the information of the plants will be sent to the mobile device (mobile application). The key of the topic is collaborative society. In that case we have a part of the system called social and collaborative environment that is consisted of: user profile where each user with his/her profile information can write something on the forum, chat and ask for the opinion their neighbour(s) or friend(s) in the same garden; a market place where the plants can be sold; a label that will be attached to each plant showing the history and competition between the users make them to actively participate in the system (e.g. experts will say which plant is the best in the garden and then the user will get the discount on the seed or on buying something in the market place). Besides that, our platform will have a Personal Gardening Assistant that will be the professional part. If something goes wrong with a plant, the user can choose tutorials, videos and see how the planting of each species look like, etc. All adapted to the cognitive level of the user. And the last part is toolkit that we can build for the developers in a way when something needed to be add later on of the services it can be easily re-programmed (positive for developers' growth opportunity when selling the final product).
