The Environment in Court

From 20 to 25 June 2016, PluriCourts Research Centre based at the Law Faculty of the University of Oslo will host the annual conference for the International Union for Conservation of Nature Academy of Environmental Law (IUCNAEL). The conference theme is "The Environment in Court", and it will focus on the procedural and substantive aspects of environmental adjudication. The theme reflects the main focus of the environmental research at PluriCourts. PluriCourts expect 200-250 participants, both from academia, national and international courts, as well as from civil society. The event aims to improve civil society's competence on environmental law, and to have good debates and analyses of environmental adjudication. The best papers from the conference will be published in a planned book with Edward Elgar Publishing, which IUCNAEL has an agreement with. Another range of high quality papers from the conference will be published in a special book issue at Cambridge University Press.
