Introduction WiSub intends to seek PES2020 funding for applying to the H2020-SME Instrument. WiSub has defined the call SMEInst-08-2016-2017 as the best fit. SME Instrument - Project Description The project intends to commercialize results from our ongoing Research Council of Norway PETROMAKS2 project (proj.nr:225926) which is being finalized at the end of 2015. The technology to be commercialized is a new type high-speed microwave connector for underwater systems. The market for these type of connectors are growing as data gathering subsea is increasing. Markets for this type of technology is typically underwater security/surveillance, Oil & Gas, oceanography, leak detection etc. During WiSubs PETROMAKS2 project there has been developed prototypes. Market intelligence received from WiSub existing customers shows that the last iteration of these prototypes has a great potential on the market if WiSub is able to make a commercialized version. One of the known risks is commercialization/development costs. By use of EU-funding WiSub intends to reduce development costs and therefore also reduce risk. Project Milestones This PES2020 supported project has only got one milestone which will be sending in application. Submission due date is the 24-Feb-2016. Intended PES2020 activities Writing application for the SME-instrument [SMEInst-08-2016-2017]. The call is to support "Supporting SMEs efforts for the development - deployment and market replication of innovative solutions for blue growth". Meetings with potential partners.
