International Conference on Chemistry and the Environment

I år ble ICCE 2017 konferansen arrangert av Norske Kjemisk Selskap (NKS) og Norges Forskningsråd (RCN) på veien av EuCheMS, Division for Chemistry and the Environment (DCE) i tidsrom 18. til 22.Juni 2017 ved Universitet i Oslo, Campus Blindern. Den lokale organisasjonskomiteen bestå av forskere fra alle relevante forskningsinstitusjoner i Norge. Ved siden av det vitenskapelige kjerne-programmet (19. to 21.06.2017: 3 parallelle sesjoner om dagen), ble det avhold 7 satellitt-symposier på søndag (18.06. 4. Satellitt symposier) og torsdag (22.06.2017: 3 satellitt-symposier): http://icce2017.org/satellite_events/. Under konferanseprogram ble 217 foredrag og 200 poster presentert i 23 tematiske sesjoner (http://icce2017.org/programs/). Hovedfokus denne gangen ble lagt på nye og allerede kjente forurensninger, vannforurensning, bærekraftige kjemiske syntesemetoder, radioøkologi, prøvetakingsteknikker, plast i miljø, analysemetoder og Modellering. Det ble et spennende og variert program som viste betydningen av faget kjemi i ulike miljørelaterte anvendelsesområder. Som en del av konferansen ble det hold en åpen panel diskusjon på norsk (tirsdag, 20.06.2017) hvor hvor alle var invitert (http://icce2017.org/associated_events/). I tillegg ble det et Agilent Industry Lunch Symposium med tittelen -From emerging pollutants to exposure risk assessment - A safer environment with Agilent Technologies? gjennomført (http://icce2017.org/sponsored_events/). NKS-Faggruppe for Analytisk kjemi, Springer Verlag og EuCheMS-DCE har gitt utmerkelser for beste foredrag og poster (6 priser) til unge forskere som presenterte deres resultater for første gang på en større internasjonal konferanse. Både deltakere og arrangørene konkluderte at Konferansen i 2017 var en stor faglig suksess. Den neste konferansen skal finne sted i juni 2019 i Thessaloniki (Hellas): www.icce2019.org

The international conference on Chemistry in the Environment (ICCE) is a biennial conference organized arranged by the European Chemistry and Molecular Science Association (EuCheMS), Division of Chemistry in the Environment (DCE). A national host society (associated to EuCheMS) is applying at DCE and after approval, is organising the ICCE conference in close collaboration with the DCE delegates. The 2017 conference will be hosted in Oslo (Norway at the Radisson Blu Hotel "Sancinavia" by the Norwegian Chemical Society (NKS) on behalf of DCE, chaired by Roland Kallenborn (NMBU/IKBM). This well established conference series has developed into a unique meeting place addressing leading experts, authorities, regulators and scientists associated with all aspects of Chemistry applied within environmental sciences, monitoring and regulations. Authorities, scientific institutions, contract laboratories and other commercial partners will exhibit their products and present their services in the frame of ICCE. The conference will provide an exciting program of plenary lectures on emerging issues, oral presentations in both general and special sessions as well as poster presentations. Examples of special topics are: Arctic pollution; Green chemistry; Academic education in environmental chemistry; Pollutant remediation strategies; Regulation and restriction of chemical usage; Pollution in air, soil, water, sediments and food, including nanoparticles and radioactive substances; Risk assessments and uncertainties; New methods for evaluation of mixture toxicity; Non-target analytical approaches and many more.
