NCE MEDIA EIF

Twelve major media players in Bergen Norway - including TV2, NRK, Bergens Tidende, Bergens Avisen, Vizrt, University of Bergen, and Vimond - have committed to moving into the old DNB building in the center of Bergen to anchor a vital media industry cluster in the Nordic region. Construction and renovation began on 1st March 2015 and once the doors are opened in September 2017, Media City Bergen will count 1200 workers within the media industry spread over 45,000 square meters. NCE Media is the guiding organization behind Media City Bergen (MCB). NCE stands for Norwegian Center of Expertise and is backed by The Research Council of Norway, SIVA and Innovation Norway (IN), with IN taking the lead management role. NCE intends to raise a Venture Fund to promote media technology growth within the Nordic region, with a focus on seed and early stage but also with the flexibility to be opportunistic and invest in promising mediatech companies regardless of stage. NCE will also provide a twice yearly three month accelerator program, housed in its Media Lab in the new MCB building. The focus of the program will be on selling and marketing in the US market.
