METODA: Methodological Explorations between Design and Social Sciences

The aim of this project is to find out how tools and techniques from design can be applied to social science research on people, society, and culture. The project will do this by mapping out and studying projects in academia and professional practice where researchers apply design methods to carry out social science research. The project will be particularly interested in research methods that engage with participation and creativity. The project will develop a database of examples of projects that have developed interdisciplinary methods between social science and design, conduct interviews with academic researchers and industry practitioners that have experience in using innovative methods to conduct research. The project will also conduct workshops to explore how new methodological tools for collecting analyzing and communicating research data can be developed and applied. Ultimately, the project will develop new knowledge and innovation on interdisciplinary methods between design and the social sciences and develop new methodological tools and devices for collecting, analyzing, and communicating research data.
