Implementing optimized oxygen transport membranes in CO2 capture schemes on all scales

Cerpotech is expected to perform the following planned activities during the project: - Suggestion for possible manufacturing route (target for project 1t) - Identification of critical and cost intensive raw materials and production steps - Identification of possible industrial automation for cost reduction - Recycling of the material (defective goods and returns) - Projection of production cost on larger scale (10t/d or 2500 t/y) - Possible investment cost for large scale production at Cerpotech - Together with Forschungszentrum Jülich: Influence of impurities in raw materials on the final membrane performance; objective is to identify cheap raw materials The membrane fabrication, the module assembly and the exploitation, marketing and sales activities will be performed in close collaboration between experienced research institutes and skilled industry partners to implement the most relevant R&D results from past projects into a prototype system. The demonstration of the prototype system will be monitored by VTT, the partner which developed the proof-of-concept". Finally the oxygen membrane plant prototype will be tested by several end-users to validate the developed system in operational environment.
