Stratigraphy and tectonic on Oscar II Land

This is a planned combined study of the stratigraphy of the Triassic and the tectonic processes affecting Triassic depositions in the area of Oscar II Land. There will be taken new structural measurements will be taken and sedimentological logs will be made for selected locations from Svenskegga to Ramfjellet. The aim for this project is to achieve a better understanding to the questions of where the source area for this time period was. This is a part of a larger project about the sedimentological development of the Triassic that has been going on for several years. 4 persons are planned to participate in the field, two students and two field assistants who are transported out by boat, which also will be used as accommodation and transport between field sites. Outcrops will both be visited by boat and by foot.
