PES2020søknad mot Horizon 2020 CULT-COOP-07-2017 : Cultural heritage of European Coastal and maritime regions"

Tildelt: kr 59 999

The overall aim of EuroCOD is to define a new paradigm for participative governance in relation to the management of coastal heritage related to commercial fisheries. We will realise this ambition by achieving the following objectives: 1. To analyse the critical and risk elements within a description of the range and depth of this particular field of cultural heritage, including basic research and identification of needs for further research. By critical we mean the elements of heritage that are fundamental to an understanding of the web of relations that the commercial fishery has created and bequeathed us. Risk elements are those that are at risk as a result of ignorance, neglect, amnesia, misuse or abuse. 2. To develop a general model of heritage elements related to commercial fisheries, focusing on connectedness, management and utilisation. 3. To develop a model of participative governance including lessons for the sustainable management of cultural heritage resources. 4. To provide local communities and local, national and European policy-makers with a coherent framework for risk assessment and the sustainable management of European coastal cultural heritage in a way that involves local stakeholders. Covering cultural landscapes from the Arctic coast to the Mediterranean littoral, which encompass a variety of historical backgrounds and include both landscapes already threatened by mass visitation and landscapes with potential for the experience economy, our project will ensure a geographically balanced study of different types of European coastal and maritime cultural landscapes. The work packages will take place in Germany, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom.
