CARMOF is a 4 years project. The project is divided into 7WPs which are linked to promote the cooperation of partners and to reach the target objectives in CARMOF:
WP1: Modified CNT/MOFs for CO2 Capture. WP Leader: SINTEF. Functionalization of industrial MOFs & CNTs and evaluation of their CO2 affinity. Design & shaping of MOF/CNT hybrid structures. Environmental & economic studies.
WP2: Integration of Desorption Technology and materials in the VSTA demo plant. WP Leader SUK.

WP3: Technology validation in the VSTA demo plant. WP leader: DEMOKRITOS. Identification of the optimal parameters of MOFs/CNTs systems for CO2 capture and validation on 3D shaped samples incorporated in a portable 3 m3 VTSA demo plant using simulates gases of selected industrial end-users. Joule Desorption processes will be validated for different 3D structures.
WP4: Scale-up production of the validated materials, WP Leader: PDC. Scale-up of the synthesis and shaping of materials by the industrial partners (PETKIM, NANOCYL, PROPARTICLES & WASP). Optimization of the internal processes to maximizing yield of the nanoparticles, binders and 3D structures and reduce the final cost.
WP5: Business Model, Business plan validation and value proposition, WP Leader QiEnergy. To ensure the full exploitation.
WP6: Technology demonstration, WP Leader PETKIM. Materials produced at industrial level will be validated in the end-user capture facilities (PETKIM, KERABEN, MotorOil & ArcelorMittal) and integration and validation of Joule desorption technology.
WP7: Dissemination, Exploitation & Technology transfer of most promising results, WP Leader VITO.
WP8: Project Management & communication, WP Leader AIMPLAS. To allow resources optimization & Risk Management
