Intelligent sensors for the management of Geo-environmental Disasters

Tildelt: kr 19 999

Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay aim to establish a joint research collaboration on ?Intelligent sensors for the monitoring and the management of geo-environmental disasters? . This ground-breaking research will be a need of 21st century because the recent geo-environmental disasters indicates that the conventional approaches and the existing instrumentation techniques are insufficient. To overcome this, there is a need for innovative and intelligent sensors, which can help in monitoring and managing the geo-environmental disasters. This can be done by integrating ICT supported intelligent sensors where different disciplines and workflows will interact. The objective of this research is to integrate ICT in the conventional engineering practices for facilitate a dynamic decision making processes to become more effective. The work will be associated with KLIMA 2050 which is a centre for Research-based Innovation (SFI) at NTNU financed by the Research Council of Norway.
