MoceanSuite - empowering SMEs in the ocean industry by building the first marketplace for Geo-Marine data

Objectives of the MoceanSuite project are directly aligned with those specified in work program SMEInst-08-2016-2017: Supporting SMEs efforts for the development and deployment and market replication of innovative solutions for blue growth. The development of MoceanSuite is strongly supported by leading Ocean Science Authorities like Prof. Ingrid Schjølberg from the Norwegian University of Science & Technology and by seismic authority and entrepreneur Dr. Ing Ketil Bø. We have already partnered with PGS, one of the largest geo-marine data providers in the world and received promising feedback by over 40 potential customers. We are highly connected in the Norwegian Startup scene (see Section 2.2.a) and have recently been elected one of the 5 Most Disruptive Maritime Startups by Business Angels Norway. Work package: Feasibility study (Duration: 3 months). Task 1 - Tech viability: Assessment of the exact data storage need; the required bandwidth for seamless access from our customers; the overall IT structure. Assessment and provision of the first datasets to be introduced into our systems and feedback from potential customers. Start the development of next applications. Task 2 - Market analysis: Market analysis of the renewable energy sector; develop a commercialisation strategy and risk assessment with special focus on countries with long coast lines and high energy production potential. Study of legislations required for the introduction of MOCEAN SUITE to target markets, thorough FTO and IP analysis for the decision-making of the best IPR strategy. Task 3 - Financial plan: Complete cost analysis for the project. Identify the complete necessary investment of the project and outline our business plan in detail. Deliverable D1: MoceanSuite feasibility report. Document showing a detailed business plan for MoceanSuite establishing the foundations for the development and commercialization.
