PENELOPE will introduce new, advanced business models for collaborative product life cycle management affecting all the stakeholders participating in products‘ life cycle. Today's digitized production results in continues - partly confidential and private - data exchange throughout the whole life cycle of production. 1) The Product design may require that several specialists cooperatively work together for a particular request or call for tenders. Challenges: Confidential collaborative design, simulation, data merging 2) The Product manufacturing may require the interaction of several organization to commonly create a building. Challenge: Correctness and Trustful secure data exchange for production planning, ordering, supply chain. 3) The Product maintenance may collect sensible information from customers like use of washing machines, access to smart television and the like for maintenance or production improvement reasons. Challenge: Privacy Aware smart home electronics and white good maintenance The challenge is to: 1- Develop a product life cycle management framework that supports the data management throughout all the different phases. 2- Identify data security issues in all aforementioned phases and work-out appropriate tools and methods that can be used within the product life cycle management framework. 3- Agree on data formats consisting of corresponding syntax, semantics and context to enable a data exchange, data hand-over and the exchange of vendors and operators during the product life cycle. 4- Demonstrate the approach in either a- high complex products: like airplane, security industry, motor development etc., b- high cooperatively developed products : like airplanes, car production, buildings etc., c- long lasting and repeating product life cycles : like evolutions of towns, manufacturing lines, etc.
