The overall objective of this project is to launch into the market Optium, the first intelligent smartphone and tablet charger able to interact with batteries of any brand in order to increase battery lifespan by 3 times and prevent any risk of fire accidents due to battery overheating. The introduction of Optium into the market will resolve the major users’ problem with smartphones and tablets today: battery depletion. Research show that the vast majority of consumers would prefer longer-lasting batteries instead of more powerful devices, better cameras or new Apps. The objective of this project is to provide consumers with a smart charger able to optimise the way batteries get charged and drastically delay the deterioration of batteries of at least 3 times. Optium project will satisfy the high unmet demand of consumers for a product that improves smartphone charging procedure, eliminate risk of fire/ battery explosion and increase battery longevity. What makes our approach unique is the capacity to satisfy the high, unmet demand of consumers for longer smartphone battery life. On the one hand large smartphone and tablet manufacturers do not deliver durable batteries because they benefit from customers replacing their smartphones often. On the other hand, current accessories and Apps for smartphone battery management does not provide a real solution to optimize total battery lifespan. The uniqueness of our approach resides in the fact we are the only player able to resolve the technological challenge to measure and control charge level, speed and temperatures of batteries independently from manufacturer brands and policies, via an automated and user-friendly interface.
