FishBiome SMEINST-2

FishBiome SMEINST-2 will mature, pilot and prepare for the commercialisation of our prophylactic solution to strengthen overall fish health as a sustainable strategy to lower the disease burden, improve fish welfare, protect the environment and recover profitability. By strengthening overall fish health, FishBiome will contribute to reducing fish mortality and achieve up to 35% higher survival and 14% higher harvest weight while reducing the time to harvest by 1½ months compared to non-treated fish. The project targets the Horizon 2020 SME Instrument Phase 2 call, which is intended to support innovation projects underpinned by a strategic business plan and feasibility assessment, bringing ideas and products from prototype stage to a rapid market launch. The FishBiome partners will technically mature the FishBiome technology by optimising the production process based on bacteria co-fermentation including downstream processing and develop and set in place a detailed business plan that will launch FishBiome onto global markets no later than six months after the end of the SMEINST-2 project (Q1 or Q2 of 2022). FishBiome will be a unique family of products that will have a global impact providing sustainable and environmentally friendly preventive measures for safe food-production. The SMEINST-2 project is crucial to enable Previwo to stand out by providing a product that is currently unavailable on European and global markets and which will enable us to keep growing. The aim of the envisaged project is to move our current prototype technology to full commercialisation onto the global markets. FishBiome has a major market potential compared to current state-of-the-art technology. As the envisaged SME Instrument Phase 2 project builds upon a validated prototype vehicle and road scanning system, the majority of our efforts will be focused on maturation, piloting and commercialisation activities.
