Tildelt: kr 0,17 mill.

1.1 Objectives The overall objective of the Virtual Reality Education (VREDU) project is to develop policies on how to use game-based learning strategies to teach children key competencies. As a test case the project studies whether game-based learning strategies will/may help children with Asperger syndrome (AS) finish their primary education to be eligible for higher education and participation in the work-force. Today a very large percentage of children with (AS) leave school early and remain outside the work-force for life. This application address the concerns of the European citizens regarding the fourth industrial revolution the future of jobs, to decrease unemployment, reduce inequality, facilitate upwards mobility and better the quality of life for students with special education needs, through encouraging the development of digital talent throughout their education. This in line with the first pillar of social rights «Everyone has the right to quality and inclusive education, training and life-long learning in order to maintain and acquire skills that enable them to participate fully in society and successfully manage transitions in the labor market». The project will provide a significant contribution towards achieving the vision of transforming local populations into digital talent, by helping groups traditionally outside the workforce finish their mandatory schooling, become eligible for higher education and become active members of the workforce in the fourth industrial revolution. This allows for students with special needs to lead more independent and self -sufficient lives, to participate in the important arenas of modern society. Greater participation in the work-force will also allow for better upward social mobility and the reduction of inequality. The project will strive to improve uptake in key competences, in order to help children with AS and TS finish their primary education.
