AttCapCon EIC Accelerator Pilot

The overall vision of the AttCapCon EIC Accelerator Pilot project is to prototype, pilot and commercialise our innovative trap system, able to catch sea lice before they can cause damage, by using a variety of factors known to attract sea lice. Our trap attracts sea lice larvae by using a LED-light technology utilising a frequency simulating the reflection of the salmon shell in sunlight, the same attractor the lice use to localise the salmon in the ocean. In addition, our trap simulates the smell of salmon skin mucus, again a proven factor in attracting the sea lice. Lastly, the trap uses water turbulence to mimic the movement of fish. As lice are attracted, they are sucked into the system, and disposed of. Compared to other solutions, Blue Lice focuses on holding exceedingly low cost at every stage of its operation, while targeting sea lice reduction in line with the most effective solutions on the market without any change to the salmons’ environment. The aim of the envisaged project is to move our current prototype technology to full commercialisation onto the global market. The Blue Lice technology has a major market potential compared to current state-of-the-art technologies. To increase our commercial success and impact, we have created a Strategic Business Plan, as a detailed roadmap, describing all necessary activities we need to undertake to ensure a successful market introduction. Now, we seek to develop our Commercialisation Plan (CP), which will form an important part of the final Business Innovation Plan (BIP), to be created in this Accelerator Pilot project. As the envisaged Accelerator Pilot project builds upon a validated prototype technology, the majority of our efforts will be focused on piloting and commercialisation activities.
