The CRCP (Centric Reciprocating Compressor and a Pump) project build on the results of the successfully completed SME Instrument Phase 2 CRC (Centric Reciprocating Compressor) project. Building on the results of this project, our CRCP Accelerator project is aimed to further mature and commercialise our breakthrough innovative centric reciprocating compressor - first cost-efficient liquid tolerant compressor combined with a pump that addresses all the shortcomings of the existing wet gas compression solutions. It is 1/3 to half size smaller than other compressors, does not require drying as it is liquid tolerant, oil free, and valve free. Additionally, CRCP is positive displacement compressor, being able to operate low speed, substantial cut of energy consumption, securing robust operation, low maintenance and small footprint. CRCP can be placed in one unit, which enables to transport and install it in remote and small industrial sites. In conclusion, CRCP is a truly first cost- and energy-efficient compressor. Our solution minimises the environmental impact of large industries, representing a significant step beyond the current state-of-the-art. Its major commercial potential will aid us in attaining a position as market and technology leader in the €4.4bn global process gas compressors market and result in a positive environmental impact and job growth in EU. The aim of the envisaged project is to move our current CRCP prototype technology to full commercialisation and onto the global markets, targeting OEMs of compression systems worldwide. Specifically, the majority of our efforts will be focused on maturation, piloting and commercialisation activities.
