to build a module stack tester for fuel cells, electrolysers and batteries
MODTESTER is a project that will create a new product range for the 2 SME’s in the consortium, with the assistance of a group specialist academic partners. The product is a modular testing system for use in the fuel cell, hydrogen and battery markets. The term modular means that customer can chose the features that they need without having to purchase superfluous features that they do not need. This provides a very cost-effective solution for the customers that is not provided by any of the existing competitor suppliers.
To build up a modular stack testing system consisting of the following features which the customers can select: - Hardware to test SOFC stacks and batteries (gas heating, water management, temperature control, fuel processing)
-Electronic control for performance characterization up to 1 kW (power, current & voltage, frequency analysis)
-Software control of the complete system (or selected component from the customers)
- Interactive database of degradation processes for fuel cell characterization
and the incorporation of a novel testing method based on derivative impedance analysis (DRT)
