Circularity in Fish Farming: from waste to value

The present proposal aims to use the fish sludge to produce both algae and energy in form syngas via a pyrolysis process. The produced algae can be further used as raw material for fish feed production. Via pyrolysis a solid fraction will be produced and characterized to identify further utilization e.g. as fertilizer, phosphorus recovery, biofilter, etc. The proposal will be submitted at the ERA-NET Cofund on Blue Bioeconomy - Unlocking the Potential of Aquatic Bioresources (BlueBio) call.
