Global warming has been accelerating recently and shows especially strong impact in the Arctic. The resulting changes of the abiotic environment may challenge the structure and/or functioning of ecosystems. We aim at quantifying whether and, if so, by how much the abundance, biomass, and diversity of seaweed-associated fauna has changed in Kongsfjorden, over the last 25 years. We will take samples on a depth gradient (0 m, 2.5 m, 5 m, 10 m, and 15 m) and compare them with the results of previous studies in 1996/98 and 2012/13 to test for historic changes in community structure and diversity.
