The overall vision of the Surfact Accelerator project is to prototype, pilot and commercialise our innovative asset tracking service. Cold chain failure results in waste of 1.3 billion tons of food and 30 % of pharma deliveries each year. Asset tracking devices are crucial to ensure an effective cold chain. However, despite an annual €33 bn investment in European IoT technologies, existing solutions face issues such as poor signal strength, low battery life, inaccurate location data and vulnerability to cyberattacks. Surfact is a sustainable asset tracking service with infinite battery life, providing real-time monitoring of the location, condition and handling of goods, automated reporting for regulatory compliance and alerting for better decision-making. Surfact offers full cargo control, tackling global challenges in food/pharma waste, and offsetting carbon footprint. The MVP of Surfact has been successfully validated by several customers. With the support of the EIC-Blended Finance we now need to further optimize our technology and demonstrate its advantages, entering the growing cold chain monitoring market. Our new technology has a major market potential compared to current state-of-the-art technologies. To increase our commercial success and impact, we have created a Strategic Business Plan, as a detailed roadmap, describing all necessary activities we need to undertake to ensure a successful market introduction. Now, we seek to develop our Commercialisation Plan (CP), which will form an important part of the final Business Innovation Plan (BIP), to be created in this Accelerator project. As the envisaged Accelerator project builds upon a validated prototype technology, most of our efforts will be focused on piloting and commercialisation activities.
