PES-HORISONT-EU-PES Horisont Europa

Digital Twin for the Catchment-to-Shelf Continuum

Tildelt: kr 69 999

The project addresses the critical importance of shelf seas for global societies by proposing the development of DT-Coast infrastructure. Shelf seas face various anthropogenic pressures and climate change impacts, necessitating adaptive observation and simulation strategies. The DT-Coast will incorporate autonomous observation systems, satellite data, advanced ocean models, and AI techniques to provide comprehensive information on coastal systems. Impact studies will assess the cumulative effects of offshore activities, vulnerability to marine extremes, and long-term impacts of nutrient loading. The project also emphasizes training and education to promote the use of DT-Coast infrastructure, particularly in developing countries.
