The need for alternative battery technologies that are both safe and environmentally friendly, with cost-effective and efficient performance for specific stationary storage applications, is growing. By the year 2030, the goal is to reduce storage expenses to below 0.05€ per kWh per cycle. This initiative aims to decrease Europe's reliance on critical raw materials from Russia and China. Additionally, there's a crucial requirement for accurate models that can forecast battery lifespan and the dynamics between batteries and power grids, enabling a thorough examination of both the potential and the boundaries This project is an Innovation Action, and the aim to develop and demonstrate in pilot scale the Vanadium based Flow battery with state of the art design of electrodes and electrolytes This project consists of following partners CARTIF (CTF) CNRS Eindhoven University of Technology Empa Flow Batteries Europe (FBE) Flow-Nano FOI IZTECH KTH (Applied Electrochemistry) KTH (Electromagnetic Eng. & Fusion Science) KTH Live-in Lab Lund University (LU) Norge Mineraler AS (NMAS) Pinflow Planck Technologies AS (PCK) University of Chemistry and Technology Prague (UCT) University of Turku (UTU)
