PETROMAKS-Maksimal utnyttelse av petroleumsreserver

The behavior of Concrete Structures under extreme conditions with regards to climate, changes in climate, eartquakes and fires.

Tildelt: kr 99 999

This preparatory project (Forprosjekt) aim to evalute and specify a main project under the title of 'Concrete Structures under extreme conditions'. The work will form a basis for a main project applicable for the PETROMAKS programme. The key project inn ovation concept is to develope, evaluate and prove the benefits of using concrete structures where extreme conditions occur as in: climate changes (fludding, soil avalanges caused by increased waterflow), fires in tunnels, bombing of installations, ice an d iceforces (the impact of ice on structures in arctic areas), earth quakes and dynamic loads on structures (impact of tsunamis to structures), cryogenian temperatures (the behaviour of concrete with extreme low temperatures (-162 dc). The main projec t work will aim to expand on new areas to use concrete, to prove the advantages of using concrete in areas with extreme conditions, to eliminate costly alternative solutions and to improve sequrity (HES). In some areas it may be neccessary to systemise ex isting knowledge and data while some areas will require advanced R&D work to be performed. Through this project one will improve business with the main contractors, insure better and less costly prod. solutions for the oil companies. Through this prepato ry project one will establish a well founded scope of work, define the main project organisation, define cooperating companies (product development company, R&D Institutes, oli companies/entreprenuer) including signing of an development agreement and esta blish main project budget. This project will include use of advanced applied material and structural technology, mathematics/FEM, climate/climate change and geological competence. A preparatory project (Forprosjekt) report will be produced. The main proje ct will be defined as a BIP project. The cooperation partner AkerKværner Enginering has a key competence in the design/engineering, construction and installation of concrete offshore oil and gas platform.
